Today we're shipping MySmartRental 2.0: the biggest update we've pushed since launch. It's faster end to end, introduces tools you've been asking for, and lays the foundation for native iOS and Android apps landing in Q2 2026.

Every change in this release has a feedback comment attached to it somewhere. Thank you for telling us what was slow, confusing, or missing. Here's what we did with it.

What's new in 2.0

Report bugs and request features without leaving the app

The new Support entry in your sidebar (also on the tenant and contractor portals) turns feedback into a first-class product surface. Pick “Bug report” or “Feature request”, drop a screenshot, and you get an email the moment we pick it up. No separate forum, no support ticket inbox hunt; it's built into the product you're already using.

An interactive welcome tour

First-time sign-in now walks you through the dashboard with contextual tooltips. Landlord, property manager, tenant and contractor each get a tour tailored to their role. You can replay it any time from the Take the tour button at the bottom of the sidebar, and demo visitors get it automatically on every session so they can explore without feeling lost.

Cleaner views, faster navigation

We've rebuilt the core data tables for properties, tenants, invoices and leases with sticky headers, per-column sorting, and mobile-first layouts. Summary stats are now the first thing you see on every landlord dashboard, so there's no more scrolling to find the number you came for.

Performance

Server-side rendering is sharper, bundle sizes are smaller, and the UI hydrates on first paint instead of waiting on data. Under the hood we've wired up live error tracking so anything that regresses gets spotted and fixed before you feel it. Dashboards that used to take a noticeable moment now feel instant.

Mobile apps, coming Q2 2026

Everything in the browser today will be on your phone soon. The MySmartRental mobile app is in final review for both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, with a public launch planned for Q2 2026 (April to June). Native push notifications for new messages, rent reminders, and maintenance updates are built in from day one.

If you want an early-access TestFlight or internal-test-track invite, raise a request from the new Support page and mention “beta tester” in the subject.

Built with your feedback, and we're listening

Thousands of hours of user sessions, hundreds of ticket threads, and a lot of candid conversations have shaped 2.0. The in-app Support tool means the next release can ship even faster: you tell us what needs to change, we read it (a real person, no support bot), and the best ideas land in a future version.

Under the hood

For the technically curious, 2.0 runs on Next.js 16 with the App Router, tRPC v11, Drizzle ORM on Postgres 16, and a properly wired Sentry setup for server, client and worker tracing. None of this matters if you can't tell the difference as a user, but it means we can iterate three times faster than we could in 1.x, and you get that velocity on every future feature.
